Maritime user workshop 2013
Delivering Value and Benefits from Maritime Information Infrastructure, Tuesday November 26th, 2013, The School of Economic Science, 11 Mandeville Place, London W1U 3AJ. A joint workshop with OceanwWise.
This workshop demonstrates the ways in which effective data management best practice is now delivering significant efficiency and cost savings across a range of uses in the wider maritime domain. The adoption of the appropriate standards and specifications coupled with the use of appropriate technologies is allowing both private and public sector organisations to develop innovative ways of conducting their operational and business practices. Underpinning these changes is GIS; a powerful and effective tool which allows users to visualise the planning, execution and onward managing of their operational activities in a graphical manner as the critical element of a Maritime Information Infrastructure. The theme of the workshop once again will feature how organisations are combining the technical and human elements in order to “extract more value from reduced resources”.
