Cadcorp SIS WebMap for Power BI
Embed an interactive map into Microsoft Power BI
Microsoft Power BI is an analytical tool that transforms multiple sources of data into coherent, visually immersive, and interactive insights. Power BI enables users to easily connect to data sources, visualise and discover what’s important, and share it across their organisation.
Cadcorp has developed a custom visual, which allows an interactive map to be embedded into a Power BI report. Simply import the Power BI visual, supplied from Cadcorp, allowing it to be added as an option to the Visualizations pane.
The visualization supplies mapping data, served by Cadcorp SIS WebMap, which the user can implement to define their own data layers and structure, appropriate for the point data being overlaid and in keeping with their corporate mapping.
SIS WebMap for Power BI supports numerous Coordinate Reference Systems including those that use Latitude and Longitude, and OSGB. Datasets imported into Power BI that match the coordinates in SIS WebMap, will be displayed over the map using a range of map pins. As the data is held within the Power BI environment, it is linked between the visuals on the report.
The map can be customised using the built-in SIS WebMap icons:
Map Marker - select from blue, gold, green, orange, purple and red
Mouse Position - add mouse coordinate tracking
Pan Zoom - add pan and zoom controls to make navigation easier
Layer Control - allow layers to be switched on and off
MapTips - display selected fields in a MapTip as the cursor hovers over the map. Hyperlinks can be added, including an image
Organisations from a wide range of market sectors are making use of Power BI. Below are some examples using SIS WebMap for Power BI.
