Cadcorp Local Government Conference 2020
A week in the life of a GIS professional
- London, 10th March 2020
- Liverpool, 17th March 2020
The role of a GIS professional in Local Government is more than creating spatial datasets and reviewing existing or incoming data for currency, accuracy, and quality. It is more than producing accurate maps and other representations of data for public use and fieldwork. It is more than preparing reports, performing research and undertaking special projects. It informs the work of various council departments, provides answers to public enquiries, and reveals opportunities for future planning.
This year’s conference will examine a typical weekly workload of a GIS professional and the challenges they face. We will explore software applications, techniques and services that help streamline the multitude of tasks they undertake, and provide benefits to the council and the public they serve. The annual Cadcorp Local Government Conference gives those working with geographic information at local authorities the opportunity to update and expand their knowledge of GIS.
Who should attend?
This free-to-attend conference is aimed at those who work in central or local government. It will be of interest to those requiring more information on the benefits of GIS technology and its potential when integrating with other systems.
It will be relevant to those who are looking for new ideas to build upon an existing GIS infrastructure or those who are new to the industry.
Breaks and a free lunch will provide many opportunities for networking with like-minded professionals.
