A free to attend conference for GIS and IT professionals in local government.

Scotland 21st March, Manchester 23rd March and London 28th March 2017.

"Taking the mystery out of cloud-based GIS"

As UK local authorities move towards a “Cloud First” strategy, the impact this will have on the role of GIS remains unclear. It opens up a multitude of questions on scope, usability and data management and security.

Cloud services are increasingly becoming part of the user experience. The implication of this is that everybody in the local authority can access the GIS that's been set up by the GIS professional. GIS transforms from a specialised technology into a source of information for local authority departments and citizens to access.

This conference will explore what value GIS technology offers to local government services. We will also spend time considering the options available for deploying cloud-based GIS in a user-friendly yet secure way.

Who should attend?

This free-to-attend conference is aimed at local government professionals involved in GIS, IT, and customer care.

It will be relevant to local authorities looking to build upon an existing investment in Cadcorp technology or are considering Cadcorp products as an alternative to their current GIS tools.

It will also be of interest to those requiring more information on the benefits of GIS technology in local government departments.

There will be a number of presentations from local authority practitioners, data providers and technology suppliers. Cadcorp will be demonstrating a range of relevant web products including Web Map LayersReportITLocal Knowledge™, and Notice Board™.

Refreshment breaks will provide ample opportunity for networking.
