Making GIS consumer friendly for Local Authority service users
With increasing demand on services and the changing needs of the populace, Local Authorities are challenged with enabling access to up-to-date information. A Geographic Information System (GIS) can help council teams meet this commitment and actually enhance interaction with service users. When a GIS is deployed optimally, a user can simply view or click a location on an online map to see what services are available.
This webinar demonstrates best practice use of GIS in Local Government, covering desktop, web based mapping and dashboards. It is joined by Matt Horwell, GIS Coordinator at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, who shares the steps he takes to create clear and informative mapping for internal and public consumption.
