Cadcorp Local Government Conference 2025 – Presentations
As part of the digital planning journey, Local Authorities are exploring software and services that support them in reaching goals of improved data access, faster plan-making, and greater community engagement.
This year, we took the Cadcorp Local Government Conference online, giving all Local Authorities across the UK the opportunity to examine the role of GIS, web mapping, and spatial data in meeting digital planning goals.
Following a Cadcorp public sector update, we examined data-driven planning to enhance decision-making, based on a Cadcorp research project into Defining local authority best practice. To highlight specific areas of this project, we demonstrated methods in Cadcorp SIS Desktop for Preparing planning maps and assets, including using the Ordnance Survey® National Geographic Database (OS NGD). East Hertfordshire District Council then shared how they’ve created time savings with Cadcorp Call for Sites, a digital site submission application for accelerating site assessment analysis.
In the collaborating with industry session, we outlined What to expect from a cloud GIS migration partner and the wide range of benefits cloud unlocks for councils and the community they support. This was followed by a presentation from the Improvement Service on how they benefitted from the Cadcorp Extended Support Service in Streamlining self-service for Clackmannanshire Council with Cadcorp SIS WebMap and Cadcorp SIS Notice Board™.
During the final session, we demonstrated how mobile location intelligence can be used to drive community engagement by Curating a public-first approach in web mapping. This was followed by a preview of a new Cadcorp interactive application for community information sharing.
Collaboration was paramount throughout the conference, and delegates took the opportunity to exchange ideas during breaks.
