Q) What makes your products any more appealing than those available from other suppliers?

A) Cadcorp products are unique providing users and developers with many benefits.
Increasing numbers of customers have recognised the advantages of buying Cadcorp SIS which is why Cadcorp is experiencing strong sustained growth.

Our customers comment favourably upon things like: world leading OGC certified conformance, access to over 100 data sources 'out-of-the-box' without translation, middleware-free access to databases, ease of use, the breadth of our software offering, ease of development particularly pre-built assemblies and seamless integration, good customer references and an attractive price - amongst other things.

There is also the advantage of not needing to learn yet another obscure proprietary language as Cadcorp supports industry standard Microsoft and ActiveX development environments (and therefore commonly used development languages such as .NET, Visual Basic, Visual C++, Powerbuilder and Delphi).

Add to this the expert support, free stuff, plug-ins, maintenance, training and consultancy available from Cadcorp and the reasons are even more compelling.

Talk to us about your specific requirements and you may be pleasantly surprised.
    Q) Can your software interoperate with other vendors?

A) In a word "yes".
This is for a number of reasons.

One is our leading record in implementing OGC interfaces. If your software supports OGC interfaces then your software is most likely to interoperate with ours.

Another significant factor is our support for over 100 data sources. Chances are we already support the data used by your existing GIS package in its native form. This means we can happily coexist with your existing GIS investment and contribute our part of the solution as and when necessary. Buying Cadcorp isn't necessarily a case of throwing out your existing investment, rather that of complementing it.

Q) Can you explain your product name?

A) Our software is the ‘Spatial Information System’ from Cadcorp, so not surprisingly it is known as ‘Cadcorp SIS’ for short.
Cadcorp SIS combines the company name and the product name, both of which are registered trademarks in certain jurisdictions. This also explains why you see the name sometimes written as "Cadcorp SIS - Spatial Information System" literally, the spatial information system from Cadcorp!

Q) How can I see impartial reviews of your software?

A) Independent reviews appear in the trade press.
Several recent reviews of Cadcorp SIS have been written both in the USA and UK. These have been in GeoWorld and GI News magazine and articles are shown in the Resources section of this website.
    Q) Do I buy software directly from you or another organisation?

A) Cadcorp supply direct in the UK and through select partners worldwide.
In the UK Cadcorp supplies Cadcorp SIS products directly to customers. We also supply our business partners who develop third party applications that incorporate our GIS know-how into their software products
.

In many other countries our products are supplied by distributors that act as your first line sales and support contact. Details of global distributors are provided in the 'Contact us' section of this website.

If you are in any doubt as to what to do, do not hesitate to contact us directly on sales@cadcorp.com

Q) Do you offer demonstration disks?

A) Yes we do, on request.
Naturally, we offer literature, case studies and either Cadcorp or one of our partners can visit you to discuss your wider needs and demonstrate software. We can also arrange evaluation software subject to status.
