Digital mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) software developer Cadcorp has announced the appointment of Richard Spooner as account manager for central England and Wales. A geographer-planner with over 20 years experience building, marketing and selling solutions involving geographic information, Spooner joins Cadcorp from a leading UK provider of aerial photography where he held a position as strategic business development manager. Prior to that he spent 10 years with Unisys where he started as marketing manager and moved onto head of strategic initiatives. He then ran his own successful consultancy before joining MapInfo Corporation in an industry marketing role. Spooner is responsible for looking after the interests and requirements of Cadcorp customers and prospects in the public sector across central England and Wales. He will work with them on matters relating to the sale and application of Cadcorp software and services.
