Participants from France, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Norway and the UK were in attendance. Cadcorp presented the latest information on their latest main release, Cadcorp SIS V6, plus demonstrations of Cadcorp apSIS, (a Microsoft COM based development toolkit) and Cadcorp mSIS, (a solution for mobile data capture using the Pocket PC). The latter being one of the world's largest business reinsurance firms.
Martin Daly, Cadcorp Technical Director also introduced and demonstrated Cadcorp's three ISAPI based Open GIS conformant Web products, namely Cadcorp SIS Web Server, Feature Server and Terrain Server. These serve raster, vector features and 3D data respectively and greatly expand the flexibility of GIS to handle a range of disparately located geospatial data. Indeed, Cadcorp SIS itself can act as both the server and client to these GML 2 handling products. Several partner applications which are built upon Cadcorp SIS were also shown. French partner Geomod demonstrated a 3D hydrographic survey application called XGRID, Dutch partner Vicrea presented their solutions for local government and utilities, Greenly Software of the UK showed Cadcorp SIS based Land Terrier and Rights of Way management solutions. Filip Roselle, the IT Network Manager of a local Brugge customer WVEM, gave an in-depth insight into the use of Cadcorp SIS. WVEM, a combined Gas, Electric and Cable TV utility, use both Cadcorp SIS desktop and Web-based GIS products for a number of applications. Roselle cited Cadcorp's excellent Open GIS support as a key driver in their choice of Cadcorp SIS. Mike O'Neil, Managing Director Cadcorp stated: "This is the 4th annual gathering of our European partners. We were very pleased to be joined by new partners from Norway, Spain and Italy. The channel is growing, as is the diversity of applications they offer. All our partners have been successful in winning prestigious orders and we can only see this trend continuing in future".
