Cadcorp European Partners Meet

Cadcorp European Partners met in Reims, France on the 25th and 26th June 2001. Partners from France, Holland, Germany, Sweden and the UK were in attendance.

Cadcorp presented the latest information on the next release of Cadcorp SIS, plus a preview of work progressing on the Windows CE platform for mobile GIS. A working prototype running on an Compaq IPAQ handheld PC was shown live and demonstrated how Cadcorp are not only aggressively attacking the desktop GIS and web markets, but that of mobile solutions as well.

The work done designing and implementing the Ernst & Young European Investment Monitor website was also described in detail and illustrated how Cadcorp SIS - Spatial Information System is being used to deliver major improvements in the delivery of business data.

Several partner applications which are built around Cadcorp SIS were also shown. From the UK, Greenly Software showed Foot & Mouth recovery enabled by a comprehensive footpaths management application for local authorities. Following the recent outbreak several UK local authorities turned to the Greenly Software solution to manage the chaos that surrounded reopening public rights of way.

French partner Geomod demonstrated a hydrographic survey application, whilst Swedish partner Blominfo illustrated the use of Cadcorp SIS in the role of Graveyard management.

Mike O'Neil, Managing Director Cadcorp stated:"This is the 3rd annual gathering of our European partners. The channel is growing, as is the diversity of applications they offer. Our partners have been successful in winning prestigious orders, including the recent sales to the French Mapping Agency and those to government departments and utilities in the Low Countries".

As well as formal sessions, all enjoyed a tour of the Pommery champagne house and dinner in central Reims, the champagne capital of France.
